To be able to request for a SSL Certificate you must have created a CSR on your webserver. How to do that depends on your web server software. Please find specific software instructions under "How to create a CSR" in the menue to the left.

Thsi CSR is used to create your certificate.

Important!
Common Name (CN)/Friendly Name must be the web-address where you are planning to use your certificate, and it must be that part of your web where your visitors is connecting to the SSL.

For instance, a SSL Certificate issued to www.company.com will not be valid for mail.company.com.

Please ensure that the Common Name (CN) in your CSR is ONE of the following:

  • your Fully Qualified Domain Name (e.g. "secure.yourdomain.com")

  • your Public IP address (e.g. "202.144.8.10")

  • the Full Server Name of your internal server (e.g. "techserver")

  • your Private IP address (e.g. "192.168.0.1") 

After you have generated a CSR using your server software copy and paste the CSR text using an ASCII text editor into the CSR box below. Your CSR should look something like this:

WILDCARD
If you are ordering a WildCard certificate the CN must contain a *. This * is replacing the most left. Please read more att StandardSSL WildCard Certificate.

The CSR must contain the following mandatory information:

  • CN  Common Name/Friendly Name

  • /Domain Name
  • O    Organization

  • L     Locality

  • ST    State/Province and

  • C      Country
